Compass Music

Visual Identity Design, Event Collateral Rollout, Motion Design for Live Events

Compass Music Festival is a grassroots music event in Folkestone created as an extension of the Compass Music brand. As a lifelong live music fan, working on a festival identity had always been something I had quietly hoped would come along, so this project felt particularly special. I collaborated closely with the founder to develop the visual identity during its early years, helping establish its tone and presence as it grew, with 2026 set to be its third year running.

The work stayed within existing brand guidelines but pushed the Compass Music visual language into something more vibrant and expressive for a seaside festival context. The identity needed to carry across a wide mix of genres and feel accessible to a broad audience across age groups.

Alongside the core festival identity, I also designed a range of supporting collateral for smaller music events throughout the year, extending the system into more flexible, community focused touchpoints while maintaining a consistent visual thread.

The result balanced the structure of the parent brand with a more energetic and expansive visual system, helping define the festival as a recognisable cultural event within Folkestone.
